Texas will be affected by a significant weather system early this week. A cold front is expected to approach late Monday and remain until Wednesday morning. The frontal passage is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms, with some regions likely to experience substantial rain.

The National Weather Service has warned that isolated flooding may be a viable concern, especially in regions where the cyclones generate substantial rainfall. Forecast models indicate that the storms will progressively dissipate from the region by midweek; however, the Fujiwhara Effect, a distinctive weather phenomenon, will ensure that conditions remain unsettled.

The Fujiwhara Effect is caused by the convergence of two weather systems, such as an upper-level low and a cyclone, which subsequently merge as they orbit each other. After Tropical Storm Helene has made landfall, meteorologists anticipate that it may interact with an upper-level low-pressure system. This could result in the two systems merging over the southern United States, prolonging the unsettled weather conditions in the region, including Texas.

It is anticipated that the region will remain under cloudy skies with potential for rain and thunderstorms through the weekend due to the potential convergence of the weather systems. In addition, temperatures are expected to be lower than the average due to the persistent unsettled weather pattern.

Local authorities advise residents to monitor weather forecasts and prepare for potential inundation in low-lying areas as the storm system develops. As the system evolves over the next few days, the Fujiwhara Effect's impact is relatively uncommon and may result in unpredictable weather changes.
