After Eddie Garcia resigned, Dallas Police Chief Michael Igo described his strategy. After three decades with the Dallas Police Department, Chief Igo wants to retain stability by following his predecessor's crime techniques.

"My job where I sit now is to maintain the standards at the department," he stated. He said he had no intentions to modify the successful violent crime plan. I won't abandon the crime scheme. Into its fourth year. It worked."

Garcia led the plan to reduce violent crime through proactive policing and community engagement. Chief Igo says the strategy had reduced homicides by 27% by last month, resulting in 53 fewer victims.

Chief Igo has extensive expertise in patrol, vice, and internal affairs divisions. Considering his stay, he wants to continue Garcia's development. "It's a crime plan that's working," Igo said, signifying a smooth transition as he transforms the agency.

Igo's steady approach strives to maintain efficient enforcement techniques as Dallas awaits a permanent chief.
