The freshman representative from Texas' 30th district compared former President Donald Trump to Vice President Kamala Harris. She praised Harris's career as a prosecutor and criticized Trump as a "career criminal."

Crockett, who is a member of the House Oversight Committee, has rapidly established herself as a prominent figure within the party due to her sharp intellect and capacity to articulate a clear, succinct message.

In her DNC address, she emphasized the disparities between the two prospective presidential candidates, stating that "One candidate worked at McDonald's while attending an HBCU, while the other was born into privilege, assisting his father in a business involved in housing discrimination."

The Dallas Democrat continued, asserting, "She has lived the American dream while he has been the American nightmare."

Crockett's speech was well-received by the audience, as her alliterative jabs at Trump elicited mirth and applause.

The audience engaged with Crockett as she asked,, "America, given these two alternatives, which would you prefer: Donald Trump or Kamala Harris?"

Crockett's address was delivered on a night that also featured several other well-known Democrats, such as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Vice President Harris, and civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson.

The convention will conclude on Thursday with Harris' acceptance speech as the party's presidential nominee.
