DALLAS- La Casita Coffee, a highly regarded bakery in North Texas, has started operations at the flagship Half Price Books location on Northwest Highway.
The café, inaugurated on August 20, 2024, offers a variety of pastries, espresso, and croissants. It intends to introduce a brunch menu in the near future.
La Casita, a small bakery in Richardson, was established by James Beard-nominated pastry chef Maricsa Trejo and her husband, Alex Henderson. The bakery has since become renowned for its exceptional baked products.
Black Forest Coffee, which had been a fixture at Half Price Books for more than two decades, has been replaced by the new Dallas location.
"We are overjoyed to be associated with a location that is so iconic," Trejo stated. "We aimed to establish a space where individuals could savor exceptional coffee and pastries while they perused Half Price Books, which is a wonderland for anyone who enjoys reading."
La Casita Coffee will initially concentrate on providing a diverse selection of beverages, such as espressos and matcha, as well as its signature confectionary, such as muffins and croissants.
The café's team of more than 100 employees produces approximately 5,000 croissants daily.
Trejo and Henderson intend to broaden the menu to encompass brunch items in the near future, in addition to coffee and pastries.
The couple is also enthusiastic about their future plans to introduce a tiki bar concept, La Tiki Paisa, which will serve cocktails and supper, thereby transforming the café into a lively dining experience in the evenings.
With its prime location and dedication to quality, La Casita Coffee is poised to become a beloved destination for book aficionados and food enthusiasts at Half Price Books.
