According to a team announcement, Brandon Aubrey, the kicker for the Dallas Cowboys, could not participate in practice on Wednesday due to his jury duty obligations. In Tarrant County, Texas, the All-Pro player is presently serving on a 12-person jury for a felony assault case that pertains to a second-degree strangulation charge.

Aubrey, 29, is anticipated to continue attending court sessions on Thursday and Friday, according to reports from the *Fort Worth Star-Telegram*. Nevertheless, his participation in the Cowboys' Sunday Night Football game against the San Francisco 49ers is unaffected. Jurors in the case are not required to be sequestered, and the judge has consented to accommodate Aubrey's schedule.

Initially, the Cowboys attempted to have their star kicker excused from jury duty. Nevertheless, Aubrey maintained his commitment to his civic obligations, demonstrating a sense of responsibility on and off the field.

Aubrey's career has been extraordinarily successful since joining the National Football League. He has maintained his impressive performance this year, having made 17 out of 19 field goal attempts in Dallas' initial six games following an All-Pro rookie season in 2023. His season highlights include a nearly record-breaking 65-yard field goal against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3, further solidifying his status as one of the league's best kickers.
