Jamie Benn, captain of the Dallas Stars, scored his 400th NHL goal against the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night, which was a big moment in his career. The goal was scored in the first half, thanks to a nice pass from Mikko Rantanen. At the end of the play, Benn used a delayed backhand move to slip the puck past Cam Talbot in goal for Detroit and tie the game at 1.

With this goal, Benn became the second player in Stars history to score 400 goals in his career. The first was Mike Modano, who scored 557 goals in 20 seasons with the team. In 1,459 games, Modano scored his 400th goal. In 1,191 regular-season games, all with the Dallas Stars, Benn scored his 400th goal.

Benn has been a steady force for the Stars for 16 seasons, scoring 17 goals and setting up 31 others for a total of 48 points in 79 games. He is now 35 years old.

Benn said after the game, "This team means everything to me." Getting 400 goals in this shirt is a moment I will never forget.

Benn was picked 129th overall by Dallas in the 2007 draft. He has been the team captain since 2013 and is admired for being a good leader and playing tough two-way football.

The big win comes at a critical time in the season. Now, Dallas is looking ahead to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, where they'll play the Colorado Avalanche in the first round.

As the playoffs approach, Benn's knowledge and ability to score goals could be crucial to the Stars' chances.

"Jamie is a warrior," Pete DeBoer, the head coach, said. "He's always been this team's rock," she said. "He still finds ways to play his best."

The history-making goal by Benn only gives the Dallas team more drive as the playoffs get closer.
